My first time recording to a MIDI track — of my own making, in Logic Pro X. Quite a learning experience, working with the score editor and doing the volume automation to make things somewhat convincing.

It is rather frustrating to record with such a limited setup. I did quite well on the first take of 2023-11-23, but had to discard it due to sound reflections; then the subsequent 3 takes saw my voice too tired as it was late in the evening already.

Happily, I accepted take 6: the second take of 2023-11-24. The shortest recording session I’d done in a long time: about 10 minutes from warm-up to finish.

I do need to make a move on building some acoustic panels: some weird resonances are audible in this recording and that’s simply because this apartment has awful acoustics.
